Anitha’s Story

Anitha is now a young woman and was one of the 50 orphans who inspired us to found Future for Kids. Her life story explains our commitment. Here is her story:

My name is Anitha Benihirwe. I came to the orphanage by a stroke of fate when I was eight years old. I had no idea what I was going to do next, and my future was completely uncertain. However, Future for Kids changed my life for the better.

When Future for Kids took me in, I was given everything I needed as a child. I was given a roof over my head and found a loving home. I was able to go to school without question. What’s more, I was able to study at a good university and graduate with a bachelor’s degree in law.

Today, I work as a lawyer for a highly regarded company in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. This is a privilege that I would not have achieved without the tireless commitment of Future for Kids and the financial support of my sponsors. I am deeply grateful to Future for Kids for giving me the opportunity to build an independent future.

It is fair to say that the commitment of Future for Kids’ founder, Otto Fischer, his team, and all of the organisation’s supporters to helping disadvantaged children in Rwanda is charitable and transformative in the truest sense of the word.

The picture above shows Anitha with her brother Jophride. The following pictures show little Anitha, Anitha as a young, successful woman and Anitha at her graduation together with Future for Kids founder Otto Fischer.
