The Community Library, located at the Future for Kids youth center in Rwaza, was open all summer long. Each day, over 100 children and young people from surrounding villages came to learn, play music, dance, and play sports with great enthusiasm. A fixed part of the program for everyone was daily reading practice in English and Kinyarwanda. Once again, our team has done a great job.
At the end of August, we had a big closing party. The young people showed off their skills in front of guests of honor from the parish and regional administration, the entire local Future for Kids team, and numerous parents.
Now, during the school year, the Community Library is open again every Sunday for children and young people.
Nun, während des Schuljahres, ist die Community Library für die Kinder und Jugendlichen wieder jeden Sonntag geöffnet.
In the meantime, the main hall -the large school and multipurpose room- has been renovated and freshly painted, and the sanitary facilities have been adapted to suit children’s needs.
The reason: As part of our REH* project, we are working with a new group of young children from vulnerable families. We will provide them with educational support for three years, until they are ready to start primary school. The goal is to support the children as best as possible so that they can keep up well at school later on and have better opportunities in life.
